Zipdecode

Yeah, you know that U.S. Zip (postal) Codes go from "0" on the east coast to "9" on the west, and you may even have figured out they generally increase as you move north. Zipdecode provides a visual representation of Zip Codes. It shows a map of the contiguous states with a dot for every city. Type a digit and it will show what cities correspond -- until you type in all five and have narrowed it down to one. (Don't try to understand a feeble description: just go try it! Be sure to turn on the zoom.) Very cool, and a great demonstration of how interactive applications can get a point across very quickly.
