This Great Game

The reader who suggested this site says it's "a great site for those of us who love baseball and the history behind it. It offers baseball historical information by year, decade, and team. It is a great way to waste, er, I mean, use time to discover new baseball factoids." Recently I read an item by conservative pundit George Will (who is a total baseball nut) which explained why baseball is "America's Pastime": because you don't have to be superhuman to play the game. "Players do not need to be seven feet tall or seven feet wide," Will wrote. "Last year's World Series MVP, the Cardinals' David Eckstein, is 5 feet 7 and 165 pounds." My kind of game.
