I'm on the road this week, and as I write this on my laptop I'm sitting on a United 757 and I have -- really -- 5 feet of leg room. (A little extra space is important to me since I'm 6'3" tall.) I'm in the first row of the main cabin, right by the main door, so there has to be plenty of room for people to get in and out. (Added bonus: when we arrive I'll be the first one off the plane; the riff-raff in first class can just wait.) Once you know your airline and plane type, you can go onto Seat Guru and find out where the best seats are to accommodate your needs: it has the seat configurations for hundreds of planes so you know exactly what to ask for when you check in.

Up in the Air (Movie Tie-in Edition) (Random House Movie Tie-In Books)
by Walter Kirn
Amazon Price: $10.17
Customer Review: Like many others, I saw the movie first and bought the book because I enjoyed the movie. I think the plot in the movie is much stronger, in part because because of when it was released; it more accurately reflects the sad reality of today's business ...

Mileage Pro: The Insider's Guide to Frequent Flyer Programs
by Randy Petersen, Tim Winship
Amazon Price: $9.95
Customer Review: Basic college courses are usually labeled 101. Sometimes remedial courses are necessary before enrolling in the 101 course. This book should be considered pre-remedial training. A minimum of research at just a few of the myriad on-line travel sites a...

by Kinky Friedman

Customer Review: I'd suggest this collection as a rearguard to the one beginning with A Case of Lone Star. This grouping of the Kinkster's mysteries into single volumes seems to me to be a great way to introduce more mystery novel lovers to the works of Kinky Friedm...
