Popular Baby Names

Maintained by the Office of the Chief Actuary of the U.S. Social Security Administration, the site lists the most popular names given to babies in the U.S. as actually registered with the SSA. That's reasonably cool, but what's really neat is you can go back to any year (as far back as 1880) and see what the popular names were that year. In 1880, the top names were John and Mary -- neither of which made the Top 10 for the most recently ended year, 2006. You can also enter a name and see how popular it has been over time.
