Almost every week brings a news story on the effect of pollution on humans and animals. From Rachel Carson's Silent Spring to PCBs skewing sex ratios in Greenland, it may all seem overwhelming -- and far away. PlanetHazard brings it home by showing locations of polluters in U.S. cities, states, and counties. Though the EPA data they use is not exactly recent (2002 preliminary), it's still instructive. (VF)
