The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Operational Significant Event Imagery Team scientists monitor significant environmental events and produce high-resolution, detailed imagery from a variety of NOAA remote sensing instruments. The site features amazing photos of storms, fires, volcanos and other phenomena. One negative: they're not categorized or captioned as well as they could be; there are, for instance, photos from the December tsunami, but they're hard to find.
