As of this writing, 15 police officers in the U.S. have been killed in the line of duty just this year (the No. 1 cause: gunshots; No. 2 is auto accidents). This site is an attempt to catalog all of them; not just recent deaths, but going back in time, too, to honor those who gave their lives to protect ours. So far, that's 17,414 ...and counting.
