Meebo

Instant Messaging (IM) is a part of our everyday lives, allowing us to keep touch with friends, family, and co-workers worldwide. Yet, it suffers two major drawbacks: users are fragmented between a handful of competing services, and IM programs are routinely blocked by firewalls. Meebo solves both of these problems. It combines all major (Yahoo, AIM, MSN, Google) and many minor IM services into a single web based interface, including contacts and history. If still blocked, there is a repeater program that can be installed a home machine, giving you access to your IM from almost anywhere. (TC)
