Randy Cassingham's Bonzer Web Sites of the Week: Recognizing Interesting Sites that are Beyond the Microsoft/AOL-Time Warner/Media Megalith

Internet Movie Database

Whenever I have a question about a movie, TV show, actor or director, I go to the IMDb. (This week, I checked to confirm that "Willard" was the name I was thinking -- I'd hate to make a mistake on that!) IMDb started as a hobby site, and was later bought by Amazon. They're doing it right, though: the site is still free, is hugely more useful, and retained its founder as managing director. Not bad for a 13-year-old online effort!
