Acronym Finder
AFAIK, there’s no better spot to find out just what the heck all the acronyms people use, especially online.
There are certainly other acronym sites out there, but this Colorado-based site started offline in 1985, and went online in 1997, so it is spectacularly complete. “Acronym Finder wasn’t the first web-based abbreviations search site,” admits site founder Mike Molloy, “but the day it went online, it became the largest human-edited collection available — and it still is.”
BTW, with well over a half-million entries (growing at about 200 per day to serve more than 3 million queries per month), you’re almost sure to find a definition for just about every acronym you run across. Even IANAL.
